McDonald's announces three-year partnership with Paralympics Australia
04 December 2023
McDonald’s Australia’s commitment to community connection, inclusion and empowerment will enter an exciting new stage through a significant partnership with Paralympics Australia and the Australian Paralympic Team, announced today.
The landmark deal highlights Maccas’ support for the nation’s elite Para-athletes striving to compete for Australia at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, which starts on August 28 next year.
It also signals Maccas’ intent to back Paralympics Australia’s quest to facilitate better access to sport for the 20 percent of Australians who live with a disability.
“We are very proud of our long-standing focus on diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Emma Napoli-Hala, McDonald’s Australia’s Chief People Officer.
“McDonald’s has been providing employment opportunities for people with a disability for many years, partnering with Disability Service Providers including JobSupport, atWork and JobCentre, as well as a network of smaller providers in local communities.
“We are proud of our diverse workforce and firmly believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve their potential, whether it’s in sport, business or any other area in which they have a passion.
“We’re excited to partner with Paralympics Australia and support our amazing Para-athletes on their journey to the Paris Paralympics and beyond.”
Paralympics Australia Chief Executive Catherine Clark said the partnership demonstrated the strength of the Paralympic Movement to break down barriers and create change.
“Joining forces with McDonald’s Australia, an organisation so many of us know and love, is another big step forward in lifting the profile of our incredible Australian Paralympic Team as they prepare for the Paris Games,” Clark said.
“It’s also a strong show of support for Paralympics Australia’s work expanding access to sport for people with a disability so they can enjoy the many benefits that come from participation.
“This is a new partnership with immense potential and I’m very excited to see what our two organisations can achieve together.”
