Take the Macca’s Burger Challenge and join the crew!

Wednesday 5 October 2022: Macca’s is on the lookout for new mates to join the crew, with 14,150 jobs to be filled across its 1,025 restaurants. From crew, barista, delivery, maintenance and management roles, there’s a fun and flexible job to suit all ages, experience levels and circumstances.

Emma Napoli, McDonald’s Australia’s Chief People Officer, said: “Whether you’re looking for your first job to see you through your studies, a casual role to tide you over in retirement, or a rewarding career in retail and hospitality, we would love to hear from you.”

“In partnership with our franchisees, we’re proud to offer a supportive working environment, outstanding training and development opportunities, and the flexibility of day and overnight shifts, to suit all circumstances.”

For the first time in Australia, people looking to apply can get a glimpse of what it’s like to work at Macca’s

through the Macca’s Burger Challenge game, available online from October 5.

Macca’s crew are well-known for their legendary speedy service, so the game tests players’ speed, coordination and memory as they build and wrap as many of their favourite burgers as they can in 45 seconds, all with the encouragement of their virtual crew mates. It’s all the fun and energy of a real Macca’s kitchen as you race the clock, challenge your mates and see if you’ve got what it takes to join the real team.

One of the things crew love most about Macca’s – apart from working with their mates – is the opportunity to grow and develop a range of skills.

As a Registered Training Organisation1 offering nationally recognised and award-winning certifications in the business, retail, food service and hospitality sectors, McDonald’s invests more than $40 million into training and development initiatives each year.

McDonald’s Australia’s Hamburger University also provides crew and management with training in areas such as leadership and team management.

“Many of our people have started their careers with Macca’s on the restaurant floor and gone on to become restaurant managers, franchisees and senior leaders at our head offices across the country,” said Emma Napoli.

“We’re proud to be one of the largest employers in Australia. In fact, we’ve given more than 1 million Aussies their first job!”
